For the next few weeks on Makerist, we want to focus on inspiring people of all skill levels to try a new DIY project! As we come into the autumn season, crafting is the perfect accompaniment to a quiet night in, to pass the time on your commute or even just to take up a new hobby!
In Beginner V Advanced, we want you to to challenge yourself to up your DIY game. The first challenge is to make your own trousers. And no, it definitely is not as difficult as it sounds!
Beginners Project
For beginners, we have chosen an amazing pattern from Ready To Sew, for a casual pair of trousers. This pattern does not involve elastic or zips, hence why it's perfect for beginner sewists! If you're starting from scratch, or know some basics but want to put them to the test, this is the project for you. Advanced Project
For those of you who are more advanced, we're directing you towards this fab project from Coralie Bijasson for dressy trousers with a side stripe. Here, you will test your skills with pockets, zips, fasteners and side striping! This pattern involves lots of precision and will test your fabric cutting skills right from the start.
